Adolescents

Adolescence is difficult, and when you throw in trauma and family conflict, it gets even worse. We have worked with adolescents who struggle with self injurious behaviors, suicidality, trauma histories, bullying, attachment troubles, mood/depressive disorders, gender identity, LGBTQIA+ issues, and other mental health issues.

We love working with teens, and we have found that the best treatment for teens requires the following:

  • An ounce of willingness from the teen to give therapy a shot. What this means is that if your teen isn't ready for therapy, we will not be doing therapy.

  • Confidentiality between the therapist and teen (excluding serious safety concerns).

  • Guardians who are willing to trust the process and let therapy move at the pace it needs to for the teen.

  • Family involvement (as needed).

The age group we prefer is 13-18, though we are willing to work with those younger than 13 in special circumstances. Let's chat and see if your teen is a good fit for therapy with us!
